Thinking of not using the hood with the Q2M and putting it back in the box since I am swapping out the color filters so often. Dark red used below. The drama of the red filter does not seem nearly as dramatic as I remember it being with film, but maybe the skies just haven't been blue enough lately. Took a lot of post-processing to get the cloud contrast I remember from film. I am impressed with how far the tones can be pushed without them posterizing like they do with a color sensor.

Been enjoying using the Q2M so far. It does seem like the shutter speed dial is really easy to bump off of "A", and I find myself wondering why my ISO is at 40K because the shutter speed got pushed over to 1/2000 sec. I wish the "A" shutter speed setting had a more firm detent or required a lift and twist to move the dial to manual.

Love the ‘57 Corvette. I once owned one and sold it to buy an airplane. A really dumb decision even though I loved flying too.

Sounds like you may be a fan of Ms. Maier.   The story of her life and how her work came to be known is just as incredible as her images. Throughout the 50’s/60’s/70’s, she photographed nearly everything.  There was an estimate of around 100K pictures/negatives.  Ms. Maier passed away in 2009 and in 2007 a chicago historian - by pure simple luck - bought an obscure storage locker belonging to Vivian Maier that was being sold because of past due payments.  What he found was nothing short of amazing.  There were thousands of rolls of undeveloped film, pictures, negatives neatly packed away and hidden from the world destined to be thrown out like yesterday’s dishwater.  Luckily for the world, he brought this talented image maker to life through several books, one of which is mentioned by robgo2 above.  I’ve read her other books: The Street Photographer, The Color Work, and A photographer’s Life and Afterlife.  I highly recommend them.

It’s “Vivian Maier—A Photographer Found.”  The book is too tall to stand upright on that shelf. It was a birthday gift from someone in my family, but I can’t remember who. Maier did most of her work in Chicago, which is where I was born and grew up.  She was a nanny to some people that I know and was always taking pictures   Of course, no one realized what an artist she was, and she died penniless. Her fame came only posthumously.

It's an outstanding book and she was an amazing photographer. I saw a collection of her images a couple of years ago and was blown away by them.
