Julius, I enjoyed your report on using your X1 in Paris. You mention the time it takes to make and assess adjustments to EV setting. The easiest way is to learn how exposure bracketing works for you. Mine is set for +/_ 1.33 EV.  Then two presses at 12 o'clock on the keypad will set that for you. Easy!

Thank you wda. Yes, your advice might work too. however, for me I have bad short sight and really having difficulty in finding buttons or seeing texts in small screen. Even sometime I can't really tell if my the camera is focused or not.. I just guess 😅 . Thus pointing the center to the shade area is easier for me. But you are right, if I don't have short sight then using the exposure bracketing is the way. Thanks for sharing advice.

      Because of the covid-19 lockdown I am unable to go out on to the streets to photograph, not that there are any people around. I am therefore still working through my archives, and came across this image from Paris in 2002. Taken with a Leica M6, 50mm Summicron f2 and using Kodak T400CN film (which I used to love!). I hope you like it.
      I have also been revamping my web site using Adobe Portfolio, which is part of the Lightroom/Photoshop package, and like the results so far, although it is a work in progress. Take a look here

      My wife and I   were in VA. visiting our friends on their 120  acre spread . This is one of the small ponds on their property just behind their home. The second shot is a day old chicken just hatched.  They will keep him as a house pet . My friend John and his with Barbara said they can expect this little guy will be with them for many years to. come.

      Paris has always been a special place for street photography for me and, although I haven't been there for far too long, I try and emulate  the work of its' great photographers such as HC-B, Robert Doisneau and (dare I say) Peter Turnley. For me it is like fishing on a great trout stream in that you are always bound to have a good catch.
      This was taken in 2000 using my M6 and Kodak T-Max 400 film home processed. I think it was with the 50mm Summicron lens, although I can't be 100% sure.
