What we can honestly say from the "battle of the 50s" is that there are a lot of good cameras out there, and lenses. The choice comes down to (from a non-professional POV) carrying around a brick or a feather. Obviously, shooting sports professionally, or certain types of events, requires the fastest, lowest noise, male appendage extender money can by. If you want to go out and shoot in the desert though, light weight is a plus.

I agree!  As I get older, I cannot carry heavy gear anymore (doctor's order :-)).  Nowadays, I only carry my T + 50mm Summarit-M.  When I shoot surfers on the beach, I have to use my heavy Canon gears that are transported on a four-wheel roller :-)!

Nice. Landscapes are why I wanted to get a wide angle... I'm not great at it yet, better at photographing people, but I'm learning. Now that I've developed a grasp on my own, I think it's time to read some books by landscape photogs. Makes me happy to live in a time where such great tools are affordable.

Plants and flowers don't usually interest me much ......

Red Green

Specially when we see too many of them! ;)

So, here is something completely different, for a change. This is the statute of Albert Gallatin in front of the Treasury Building in Washington DC. He was a Swiss who became the US Treasury Secretary in 18th century. ;)

I'm not getting as much photography as I would like but managed a few in early Spring, I liked this one because the light was good and the branches added a frame to the Church Spire in the distance, If only you could have added sound to the image of the church spire ringing in the distance!

Just come back from Le Mans and we stayed at a Gite in Meigne-le-Vicomte, the skies were so clear and blue and the images of the Mikly way were fantastic

I loved this images as it reminded me of the Latitude and Longitude even though it was just a pair of old cart wheel bracings.
