Wonderful picture, thank you for sharing, question, what would it look like if you cropped it more tightly, Giraffe lower left, sun above with little sky above it, land to the right to maintain landscape ratio?

Thanks. The image is about solitude and  the vast Namibian landscape at sunset rather than a wildlife image of a giraffe.  I would find a simple record shot of a giraffe rather boring with limited narrative and that isn’t the image I intended to create. 
The giraffe was a bonus, you have to look for it within the image and then the true scale of the landscape becomes apparent and scale is what I set out to convey.

 I rarely, if ever, crop images. I use composition, focus and angle of view as my assets but we all see things differently.
