I just received a roll of medium format Ektar 100 back from the lab. Not posting the photo here because it would be against the rules, but it just occurred to me that the images look exactly, except for the format, as if they had been shot on my M10R. The blues are identical, and the colour palette in general too. Of course, 120 film is closer to digital than 35mm, but for me who was looking for a way to copy film in my digital cameras... there you go ! I have an M10R: unlimited Ektar 100, that I can shoot at higher ISO!

The eight images on the Home page of my website were all made with Ektar as are many more on my site.  It's  been my standard  landscape medium format colour film for years, I process it in Tetenal C-41.

So we shouldn’t expect that you’ll be waxing poetic about the improved colors and rendering from the M11? 😉

This is what I really wanted to see from the M10-R; 6400iso and the files are amongst the cleanest fx files I've ever seen at this rating.

It was almost dark when I took this and the shadow areas are quite clean with some lifting in ACR.  Colours are reminiscent of Fujifilm X output but have the more smooth graduation between hues that I'd expect from an fx 40mp sensor with the known highlight retention characteristics of the M10-R.

I have a feeling that my nd grads might not get as much use with the M10-R as they do with my Nikons.  In truth, I would not take a photograph in this low level of light without a tripod with a Nikon D810/D850 and definitely not even bother trying hand-held at 6400iso!

Lots more testing I want to do with the M10-R, but it's an impressive start.

It's our wedding anniversary.  Come rain or shine each year, Mrs O puts her dress on again and I take a few images to make a small photo book to add to the collection.

This afternoon at Huisnis, Isle of Harris.

Thanks.  Length and breadth, really.  We're still finalising the travel and accommodation itinerary but will include Ladakh, Sikkim, Assam, Eastern  side, Tamil Nadu, Western side, Rajasthan, Punjab and reserves etc

Fabulous, I am sure you'll keep an eye on the quarantine rules, etc. Each airport seem to have different rules especially with the new variant now. Also be careful in eating any salads and chutneys, anything cooked won't give you a problem. I am from India but after living in the UK for many years, I have to be increasingly careful every year I go. This will be an amazing experience and you'll get lots of wonderful opportunities for photos. Enjoy...

Really lovely photos of Harris and I guess the lighthouse is at the Butt of Lewis.  I enjoyed a wonderful trip there before Covid and plan to go back again at some point.  Can't post photos here because I didn't have the M10R at that time.  I do now 😀

Wonderful.  Do you mind sharing how you exposed this?

Thanks for your comment.

ICM (intentional camera movement) is a technique based on deliberately moving the camera during exposure.

There is more to it than simply flinging the camera around as some YouTubers would have you believe.  The key is subtlety and you need to decide on a shutter speed and then work on the direction and speed of camera movement that match the scene and the degree and type of blur that you want to achieve. Light as shadow also play their part, as ever.

It takes practice to raise the outcome beyond simple blurring.  I'm fortunate living where I do because the light here is very clean and produces beautiful pastel tones.

Here's another image from the same location, Huisinis on the Isle of Harris and you can see more examples on the Impressions page on my website

Have a go!
