Sometimes Leica's limited edition cameras leave us scratching our heads with regard to appearance/style.  I don't think that's going to be the case with the M10-P Reporter.

JMHO but this is a very nice looking camera:

Yes they can be ridiculous… but I like this ridiculous one, the Leica White Edition.  I call it the "Snow" edition.

@Tom1234 With regard to ridiculousity, Leica truly outdid themselves with this kit:  https://leicarumors.com/2015/05/05/leica-mp-gold-peoples-republic-of-china-60-years-commemorative-edition-camera.aspx/

The albino M that you present is a marvel of refinement and restraint compared to the gold & red beast in the link.  As for limited editions, this is my favorite of all:  https://us.leica-camera.com/Photography/Leica-M/Leica-M-Special-Editions/Stealth

IMO, all the special editions are ridiculous!  But, apparently, as noted, they make money for Leica though I can't figure out how/why.  The practice is probably one of the primary reasons that Leica is viewed by some as mostly a rich boy's (or girl's) toy.. ;)

I do agree, it's all ridiculous........Thinking of the M10-P ASC 100 edition for instance that's designed to appeal to the cinematographer or DoP/DP with it's PL mount adapter and the gold Summicron M 35 f/2 ASPH. As a DP myself I can only imagine what my fellow crew/camera department members would think if I turned up on set with such a crass piece of "bling" hanging around my neck. The M10-P doesn't even have video capability for God's sake which would at least offer some other level of usefulness on a tech' scout or location survey for the great deal of $$$ spent on this edition.

BUT.......If the special editions do in fact make money for Leica then more power to them, anything that helps them survive in the turbulent waters of camera manufacturing is to be welcomed by all of us commoners that have to humbly port around the lesser editions of exactly the same cameras. We need them to continue to be there for the service and more meaningful innovations of the M line so if there's people out there mad enough to throw their excess cash at Leica for such editions, then that's fine by me.
