John Z. Goriup Posted October 30, 2020 Share #1 Posted October 30, 2020 Advertisement (gone after registration) As miserable & stressful as this interminable year has been, finally - something I attempted worked exactly as planned, with a deeply satisfying outcome.....for both of us. I released the fish unharmed after reviving it for a while. Caught this 22" brown trout yesterday, with an 8' / 5 weight bamboo rod I built, on a fly I tied ( an olive & black streamer ). Was so excited I forgot to include the rod in the picture as a size reference. Leica D-Lux-4 JZG Welcome, dear visitor! ironringer Posted October 30, 2020 Share #2 Posted October 30, 2020 A big brown beauty, enhanced by your personal investment in the hand-made tools of the trade. Fine picture of a colourful Fall catch. That fat trout is about 8 times the size/weight of any brook trout I caught as a boy in backwoods Quebec, 60 years ago. Makes me smile 😀. stuny Posted October 30, 2020 Share #3 Posted October 30, 2020 Quite lovely, and well done (photo, fly, trout). You picked the right state in which to ply this hobby. BTW:, about a 2 or 3 hour drive east of you is a living legend (https://www.rebeccarusch.com) Smart, sweet, strong, charitable.
