LocalHero1953 Posted October 15, 2020 Share #21 Posted October 15, 2020 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) In comparing weights of the M10 and SL, remember to add the weight of the L-M adapter: another 70g. So 917 vs 660: 40% heavier. I find the extra weight and bulk of the SL (grip, EVF) very noticeable. Shooting with the SL is a whole different experience to shooting with an M. As always, YMMV. Edit. Digital Ms are already significantly heavier than film Ms, which weigh in around 540-560g. Leica iiif is 430g. The CL, the true successor to the Barnack, is around 400g, much less than half the weight of the SL. Just putting things in context. Good insight on weight… I am beginning to understand the weight comments on SL use.

He points the camera directly at the sun and then wonders why the highlights can't be recovered, says the claims about highlight recoverability are overshot. And complains about a 3rd party software not supporting the new camera, hello? Good points. As I read his review again, it seems he did learn some things but maybe not what he thought. He was seeing common low light phenomena of "thinning color information" that any camera has due to the laws of physics not due to a discrepancy in the Leica camera itself.
