Choosing TV as Photo Display

You might have seen photo galleries showing metallic prints. I am thinking to display the pictures on TV.  Should outperform the metallic prints.

I tried my pictures in a TV store. To my surprise, the "best" TV that has the highest dynamic range, deep black, and super saturation, turns out not the best choice. The less so ones actually look better to me. So I am not turn to the opposite direction: looking for good TV that can express the looks of matte or canvas.

Any suggestion? should a matte surface glass overlay work better?
