I actually meant MD and M10D. It would also be interesting to know how many the current one has sold. I'm surprised at what you report on the older one.

Without wishing to stray too far off-topic...

If you mean in with regards the numbers sold then please bear in mind that we are only collating serial numbers from a small group of people who visit us here in the forum so the actual sales figures might be considerably higher - only Leica will know for sure - although considering how very rarely the M-D Typ-262 appears on the used market - which is usually a decent indicator of total sales - it was almost certainly a low-volume seller.

Secondly the M-D was on the market for barely nine months(!) before the M10 was released so it's reasonable to assume that, even 'though they are very different beasts, the newer all-singing-all-dancing model attracted some Leica buyers in place of its highly unorthodox sibling over the course of the next 15 months (at which time the M10-D replaced the M-D).

I assume the M262 was a relatively poor performer in terms of sales for leica because there is no equivalent in the M10 line which is a shame for me because the "extra features" of the M10 cameras are unattractive to myself.

The M10- D is a fantastic concept though i myself do like the rear screen for reviewing images sadly.

I'm not sure about sales of the M 262, Steve, which I think were very healthy; I was only talking about the M-D 262.

Reviewing images is often very useful and I used to do so with my earlier cameras and still can with my Monochrom but it only took one outing with the M-D to realise that my preference was not to have the option. I do, of course, realise that my taste in this matter is unusual...
