There is a new version of this lens and apparently the old was discontinued… at least was on B&H''s site.

Old:  Black body only.  Only found on Ebay:

New:  Titanium or Silver bodies only.

MTF below.  Old on Left and New on right.

NOTE: On lower line pairs the separation without crossing gives the best bokeh in my experience of observing M lenses; thus lens on right the new lens should have better bokeh.  Click to enlarge and read the comments in the lower right box if you like.  They are my best observations of lenses but I am not a designer so I  say IMHO.  A comment on Swirl bokeh is hiding in the red outlined box!

So has anyone tried the new version?  I would like to see some pictures made with it.

I don't know where you found the picture with the optical design on the left, but I think it is from a different lens.
When you look at the pictures in the ebay listing you will even see the other design (your right) printed on the box of the allegedly old lens.

It looks like you might be right.   The 90mm MTF looks like my Black body 50mm MTF.  Problem is that they took down the Black body 50mm .95 so I can not tell for sure because that old MTF is gone.  They actually took it down as I was working on the comparison!  The timing was right for total confusion.  Maybe the new and old versions have the same lens formula?  I will email them and find out for sure.

So, for now I think that YOU are correct that I confused the MTF's from the 90mm to be the 50mm.  Sorry!  I will go whip myself!

I emailed TTartisan's customer service to find out if new bodies and old one have the same optical formula.

I will post as soon as I find out.  Thanks for catching the error Bastiank.

B&H photo tells me that the optical formula is the same, but the filter was 67mm and now is 62mm, so easier on rangefinder viewing.  Weight is about the same.

I put this MTF study up but it is wrong and I am correcting it here.

The MTF on the left is from a different lens, the 90mm.  My understanding why this happened is that, as I was doing the study the TTartisan webpage changed as they removed the 50mm Black body link, the 90mm black lens body jumped into the position that the 50mm black body was in just a few minutes before, so I clicked on it by mistake and went down to the mtf and screen printed it getting the 90mm mtf not the 50mm mtf.

All is corrected now… the MTF of old and new lens is on the right side above.  Both B&H in New York and TTartisan support have emailed me that the optical formula of the 50mm .95 for the old and new bodies is the same.

Sorry for the confusion.

I have both the 0.95 in TI and the 75mm f 1.25, I purchased both directly from OE in China and both showed up in very good condition no scratches or dust. I have had better luck in the focus with the 75, but when you hit it with the 50mm 0.95 I have been very happy. My other 50mm lenses are a 50 summicron v4, 50 summilux V2, and a 50mm f 1.9 Kern Macro Switar with the Alpa to M adp that is rf coupled. Plus a number of russian Jupiter 8 and Jupiter 3 and some Fed 50mm pre war lenses that I play with. Fun is had by all...... I mainly use them on a Sigma fp and Sony a9 bodies so I don't worry about the rf focusing.
