Hi

I am currently on holiday and I am experiencing strange problems with the Visoflex I never had before.

To start with, the preview picture is horribly overexposed, at least 2 stops, however the taken picture has always the correct or wanted exposure. Besides that, on extreme left of the picture in the Visoflex shows banding.

Another annoying problem is that the exposure compensation is not shown (the one in form of a short line moving left or right on the exposure scale at the bottom) although the picture is always taken with the right amount of exposure composition I have dialled in, which I can see by the way in the playback.

What can that be?

thank you 🙏

Is ONLY the exposure comp missing or the entire set of data? You can turn the data (including exposure comp on/off with the center button of the right side control.  If ONLY the exposure comp is missing but the rest of the data is there, that sounds like a failure of some sort.

Re both issues - have you tried removing/replacing the EVF/cleaning the contacts?  How bout selecting "reset" in the camera's menu.  Computers occasionally do weird things and nowadays, Leica Ms are (primitive) computers, like every other digital camera.  My iPhone occasionally starts acting weird and a complete shut down/restart always fixes it.

Thank you, I did a reset and a quick cleaning of the contacts but I am noticing no difference

cheers

Are you sure that you have some value of exposure compensation value fixed into the menu option.   Zero compensation actually switches OFF ec.

Check your menu options.
Also, if you have your camera set to A on the shutter speed, the EC is disabled and the scale on the LCD/Visoflex will be greyed.
