When the display starts losing bars, the batteries crash quickly. When full it lasts a long time there, don't go out with out a spare battery if it is missing any bars.

Thanks.  I haven't used my M8 in years.  (I had a Cataract problem that was fixed by surgery.  Now I can see to focus again.)  When I decided to start using the M8 all three of the batteries were flat.  I have charged them but they are not fully charging.  Three-fourths charge is all that I get even if I let them charge all night.  I guess I am going to have to buy a new battery and keep one or two of the old ones for backup.

Try conditioning your old batteries.  I've found my M8 batteries suprisingly resilient.

Here's how...

Charge overnight then put into camera.  Leave camera "on" with "auto power off" set to off in menu.

Overnight is often enough to completely flatten the battery. Make sure it is totally exhausted.  Recharge again overnight, and then immediately do long term discharge in camera again.

Do this a few times, should see better battery response.

Then tackle another battery to recondition.

Good luck..

The battery trick worked like a charm.  All batteries are now reading fully charged!  Thanks.

I overlooked this in my post on the same subject.  Another example that I did not really discover fire.  LOL   Your procedure is in keeping with what I have learned with my LiIon supplemented hybrid car.
