My M10-R arrived today.  This is going to sound silly, but I'm old enough to remember when Leicas came in that beautiful red velvet box -- and today there's still nothing quite like unboxing a brand new Leica.  😉  Now back to the camera . . .

Ahh, the jewelbox!  Leica hates those because when a camera comes back for tuning or service they have to track the jewelbox and make sure that the same box goes back to the customer with its precious cargo nestled inside.  Leica has a standard M-size package that does a better job of protecting the camera and can be wrapped and shipped without further padding.  They would prefer that we all use that.  But save all the elegant packaging.  When you sell your M10-R to move up to the 64 MPx M11, the box will get you a better price as a tradein or resale.
