- Start of sales July 20, 2020

- 40.8 MP sensor is closely related to the S3 sensor, as previously speculated.

- HIGHER dynamic range than the M10/M10-P (stated multiple times during the webcast)

- LOWER levels of noise than the M10/M10-P (stated in the official media materials and during the webcast, consistent with Jono Slack's report that M10-R @ ISO 12500  

- Same quiet shutter as the M10-P

- Same touchscreen as the M10-P

- "The cover glass now consists of two layers cemented together, which filter out unwanted IR and UV components that would otherwise lead to color distortion."

- From Jono Slack: "For the M10-R Leica have completely solved the problem with over-exposed highlights. With the M10 even a quarter of a stop of overexposure would irredeemably blow highlights. In the same scene with the M10-R I’ve managed to gain good detail from an image over-exposed by 2 stops."
