m410 Posted July 16, 2020 Share #22 Posted July 16, 2020 (edited) Well that was an interesting way to release the new Leica M10-R. Have not seen a live worldwide presentation of a new camera like that before. Leica MIGHT want to skip the unexpected guest part next time... I did like the more horsepower part and the new model seems like a good move. Thanks for making this available. jDD Quote Edited July 16, 2020 by m410

typ3656 Posted July 16, 2020 Share #25 Posted July 16, 2020 Wow. What the heck just happened on that live stream? Christoph Waltz = competitor plant/sabotage master.
willeica Posted July 16, 2020 Share #26 Posted July 16, 2020 Professional presenters are available to do this type of thing or even just to moderate. The 'guest appearance' was not really productive. As for the camera, it seems to be an M10 with a larger sensor output, still the same size. That is about it. William

Steve Ash Posted July 16, 2020 Share #28 Posted July 16, 2020 (edited) Whoever is responsible at Leica for marketing must have been banging his head against a wall or just died from heart-attack. How to tell the big boss to stay away from screen and look for other hobbies. Dear Mr Kaufmann, Steve Jobs is dead and you won’t become one. stunsworth Posted July 16, 2020 Share #29 Posted July 16, 2020 I applaud Leica for staging a live stream of a product launch - particularly when none of the participants were native English speakers - but that didn't go very well. The introduction regarding the history of the company was ok, but it went downhill after that. After saying that pixel count wasn't everything (I agree) all we were really told about the new camera was its pixel count. I wasn't expecting a full technical review, but I didn't see much that would persuade anyone to buy or upgrade what they already had. Finally, if you're going to have a special guest, try and arrange to have someone who's enthusiastic about the brand. To be honest I found that segment embarrassing. Again I applaud Leica for trying, but overall there seemed to be a lack of enthusiasm - and I'm not asking about the over the top presentation we sometimes see on consumer electronics' product launches. 3
105012 Posted July 16, 2020 Share #30 Posted July 16, 2020 Presentation was refreshingly different from the normal slick affair, why not dare to be different? I look forward to the computational imaging, done right...
rivi1969 Posted July 16, 2020 Share #31 Posted July 16, 2020 Who would be the genius decided to put an S body on the tall table during an M presentation? And not happy enough they put the M was on the lower table so they need to look at the floor while talking about it 😂😂 1

How come they put an S body in the frame?? The best part is the guest saying that he wouldn’t get any LOL

M9reno Posted July 16, 2020 Share #39 Posted July 16, 2020 I enjoyed the bit where they discussed the difference between 28mm and 29mm lenses. I hope the difference between 24 and 40 megapixels is more visible than that. 😂
