Gorgeous flower image, I use my 1941 Elmar on various bodies, not quite a century yet but design is from the 1920's I think.  I love the low contrast and bokeh of these older lenses on todays newer sensors , it's nice to see them put to good use.

Yeah being low contrast it is more tolerant to high dynamic range scenes.

Often times the images lack the pop that modern lenses have, somewhat dull.  Lightroom sliders take care of that in most cases, the clarity slider or the contrast slider helps.  After adjustments it is difficult to tell from a modern lens, save for the softness of the image, and as your example shows the delicacy is retained.  I've tried to duplicate this with modern lenses in post processing without much success, admittedly I am not proficient with photoshop, the use of older lenses and as you mention lower contrast results in some unique imaging.

It may also be the simpler lens design, 3 elements 2 groups anastigmat that is super clear? The softer transitions on the focus falloff interest me (as well as the bubble background)
