Well, my hope is that they’ve finally been brave enough to ditch the rangefinder and are using the SL2 EVF instead. I’m not holding my breath...

Personally, I'd want to see this on something like a "Leica S-M" or similar, but I just don't know how they'd do that without eating into their flagship M line, and I don't know what sort of differentiators it would need to have to make it worthy of the development of something new. I don't know what the future of the M line would hold if Leica released a full frame M mount camera with an EVF, not to mention how polarizing that would be to the customer base.

However, I am truly wondering if Leica is going to make something like this the focus of the next APS-C camera they release, as they have said they're still in that game.

I really hope the EVF crowd just relaxes.  Y'all had your share of fun with the SL2 announcement.  The M10M and M10R are classics, let's please keep them that way.  Pure RF, no embedded EVF.  Enjoy the LV and add-on tchochkes to your heart's desire.  Or get a Pixii!  In fact get a Pixii in all cases, it's a great idea.  Thank you all, there will be no questions.:)

Peter has been inconsistent on this one, I was thinking he had abandoned us, perhaps NDA.

If he knew anything for sure, he wouldn’t have flip-flopped several times on the M10-R’s MP count.  I’d be surprised if it’s not the same sensor as in the M10 Monochrom, with added Bayer array.

The one time Peter was under NDA was when he was looped in with a Leica on the Q release.  He described that instance on his site as a new experience for him.  Other than that, he appears to be winging it, missing badly, even doubling down, on rumors regarding the phantom C-M, then again on the SL2 launch timing (missing by a year, and later by 6 months).

Curve ball - due to Pixii and covid limitations on manufacturing volume, they will release the M10-XD with no LCD next week and the M10-X next year 😉

Make it M10M-XD!:)

I stand corrected: M10M is already X, so M10M-D will do.  In silver finish please.

That niche with a niche within a niche - sounds like the ideal Leica product ; I want one !

With endless ISO you basically need to chimp even less, mainly to keep highlights unclipped.  If they add a smart enough AI mode to do it, we can finally have a truly screenless M.  This is where I want my tech, not in AF or EVF.

Who asked their dealer to get on the waiting list already?

What do you mean "already"?? Any self respecting M customer is already on every list for the next 30 years.... right up until the M11M. I mean, how else can you be the first to get it? 🙄

Who doesn’t want it?

I'm with Ianman on this. I don't even know what 'it' is. If that is a teaser for a new camera, it is not working where I live. Behind the giant M it looks either like paint drying or the surface of Jupiter. I'm not in the market to be bored or to buy a giant sphere of gas. Anyone know what 'it' is?

I hope they never ditch the Rangefinder on the M cameras. Then the M will be just another digital camera and will quickly lose my interest. There other Leica camera options if one wants/needs an EVF. My hope is one day for a higher resolution Visoflex with its own battery for those that want to use EVF with their M camera.

I don't even know if this 'it' is still an M10 or will have a new label -  M11

Can’t wait to see what’s coming

easy. It will be something to complain about. It will not have enough terapixels, it will only go to ISO 512,893, wont be able to shoot more than 60 FPS and.... won't have an EVF (mouhhhahaAHAHAHA)

Given the emails going out and other communications have the words "We unveil the latest member of the M10 family!", I'm going to go out on a limb and predict that they may be unveiling the latest member of the M10 family! I could be wrong... it might be the M241bis
