kinross Posted June 8, 2020 Share #1 Posted June 8, 2020 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have an Epson perfection V 700 scanner. It has done all I have needed in the past. Have not used for some time. Today I find it is not compatible with high Sierra 10.13.6. It has some functionality but limited. No marquee area for example. Time to buy a new one I suppose. I would like to stay with Epson. As a replacement thinking of the V 850 which does seem the nearest to what I have. Any members have thoughts on this, or could I even get the V700 working fully again. Thanks for any help. Mike.

wellfleet Posted June 8, 2020 Share #2 Posted June 8, 2020 It should be compatible as Epson has posted a driver for 10.15.x. https://epson.com/Support/Scanners/Perfection-Series/Epson-Perfection-V700-Photo/s/SPT_B11B178011
Stealth3kpl Posted June 8, 2020 Share #3 Posted June 8, 2020 If you can't get the new driver to work, get Vuescan and Negative Lab Pro. Pete
kinross Posted June 8, 2020 Author Share #4 Posted June 8, 2020 Thanks for link wellfleet. That has worked. Only thing now is I am unable to select film, only reflective. Have check cover is plugged in. Do not understand why I could not find that download. All I ever came up with ' no drivers for your is os system ' I did spot the Vuescan page. Maybe worth a try if all else fails. Thanks.Mike
Stealth3kpl Posted June 8, 2020 Share #5 Posted June 8, 2020 (edited) It might be worth downloading the silverfast or vuescan demo as it may have drivers (that remain for your Epsonscan software) Pete Edited June 8, 2020 by Stealth3kpl
kinross Posted June 8, 2020 Author Share #6 Posted June 8, 2020 Have sorted the film problem. Switched scanner off and powered up again. ok now. I may try vuescan demo to see if it has any benifits over the standard Epson. Mike.

I felt the colours were better with Epsonscan. If I was to use Vuescan for colour now, I'd scan for linear scans and convert in Lightroom with Negative Lab Pro.
