Fotos 2.1 on a vanilla M10 (not -D)

Fotos 2.1, Android 9 Moto G7

I use Fotos for date time and an occasional control setting update on my M10-D.  Just for completeness I also tried the new version on an M10, for which control setting from the app has now been added.  Connection to both M10 and M10-D is a bit improved.  It requires WiFi and you have to turn WiFi on explicitly (at the Fotos menu item in an M10) and wait for the camera hotspot to be active (green LED on the M10-D and QR code appears on the LCD on the M10.  Then it is relatively quick.

There is no geolocation supported in Fotos for M10s.  You are supposed to use the VF20 for that.

You can now see a long list of control settings and change them in the camera from Fotos at the "settings/setup" point in the app.  But only the simplest ones will be effective when you shoot with Remote.  Example:  Go to the list of Drive settings and set a self-timer delay of 2 or 12 seconds.  If you then shoot with the camera shutter button you get a 2 or 12 seconds delay.  If you press the Remote shutter button, you get an immediate shot and the setting on the camera goes back to single shot.  (but Fotos still has the delay setting in its list.  So this feature is somewhat useful for viewing settings, but buggy for changing anything other than the ones that appear in the Remote part of the app.

You have to wonder why this and many other small buggy things haven't been attacked in an update to Fotos (say, 2.1) in the month or so since 2.0 came out.  Apparently they want to remove the "beta" disclaimer from geolocation, and just maybe, they have a new camera to add to the list of things you can connect to.
