Albert Andersen Posted May 25, 2020 Share #1 Posted May 25, 2020 Advertisement (gone after registration) Just a question for exif data in Lightroom. Whether the light measurement method is set to Center weighted or Multifield on the camera, the measurement method is always specified as Center weighted average in LR. Is it normal or is it a camera error?

If you take with EVF, you have those options so, could you please try to take a photo with EVF and then check?
Albert Andersen Posted May 25, 2020 Author Share #3 Posted May 25, 2020 I do not have an EVF, but I have tested with Live view, and correct you have all 3 options. Just read the manual, and when using the rangfinder it is always center weighted. Only Live view or EVF give possibilities to choose Thank you for your reply

As technically it is not possible to have other metering options, OVF uses only centre weighted metering, the reflected light from the grey shutter blade. All the other metering methods require the actual sensor as the light is read off the sensor directly.

I use the OVF. When I press the shutter release the shutter opens to take the reading and then captures the image. It has a bit of a lag but works well. Does the M 10 not work the same way? I just tried this as an experiment and I agree.
fatihayoglu Posted May 26, 2020 Share #7 Posted May 26, 2020 Advertisement (gone after registration) As far as I know, M10 doesn’t have this feature. To use other metering methods, you need to activate LV or EVF. Then you can take photos and the problem with that is, M10 keeps the sensor open always, which drains battery really fast, heats up and have a lag as it doesn’t have electronic shutter

Changing between centre-weighted metering and multi-field metering had no effect on the picture taken through the evf. I kept all the settings constant apart from the metering method and the photos were exactly the same.
