Stops focusing

My new Q2 will stop focusing on auto AND won’t focus manually.  I’ve found I can shut camera off then it works again.

Well that’s not correct......?firmware update, reset and if still same....back to dealer 🙄

I would carefully check the lock / switch on the lens and make certain it’s in the AF position. It sounds like to me it may be half closed. Good luck.

Call the Leica store/dealer! Troubleshooting with someone holding the same camera can be very helpful.

This problem has come up in the past and like Leica Guy said, it's usually related to the lock button that must be depressed when turning the ring to AF and the button should pop back out in that position.  However the original post says it also won't focus manually either which makes me wonder if something else could be out of place or has become disconnected.  A trip to Leica might be required for that repair.
