Advertisement Posted May 10, 2020 Posted May 10, 2020 Hi wolan, Take a look here Color filters for BW photography on M10. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
a.noctilux Posted May 10, 2020 Share #2  Posted May 10, 2020 (edited) Using colored filter with color sensor is not good idea at all. I had "done" this by surprise, when I use same lens ( Summilux 50, color red filter on it ) with film M, then forgot to remove when used on my M9 (by then), the file was "something special" not less. No, a bad idea, make a colour photograph and use Silver Efex to add the effect of a colour filter (and also do all your other B&W post processing at the same time). jaapv Posted May 11, 2020 Share #4 Â Posted May 11, 2020 One thing against using postprocessed filters is that there is a risk of amplifying one colour channel to show too much noise. You must do your noise reduction per colour channel.

Monochrom sensor is not colored sensor !  Maybe it would have helped to focus! Yes, using only one channel will reduce resolution to 50% (G) or 25%. Luft Posted May 11, 2020 Share #6  Posted May 11, 2020  With the M10 Monochrom I use the Leica and Heliopan filters, expensive but high quality glass and rings. If this is your application I can add some thoughts.
antonioxrosa Posted May 11, 2020 Share #7 Â Posted May 11, 2020 Advertisement (gone after registration) In my humble opinion I don't see the purpose of using color filter with a color sensor. I process the files from the M10 in Lightroom to BW and if required I can manage each colour channel as I wish. When photographing analog in BW I use Nikon colour filters. 1joel1 Posted May 11, 2020 Share #8 Â Posted May 11, 2020 You might consider a polarizing filter for some separation since you really shouldn't use color filters with a color sensor. Joel
