Andreas Just so that we know what link not to click on, could you please list the URL of the porn site here? Again, just for purposes of avoiding it. 🙂
jaapv Posted April 28, 2020 Share #5 Posted April 28, 2020 I find it quite amusing to visualize a porn site ducking behind trees and lamp posts when you are walking the dog... Start by securing your Internet privacy. Use DuckDuckGo, Blur and Ghostery. Reset all your passwords. Set your social media to "friends only" and block any suspicious request. Run a malware check on your computer: for Mac, use CleanMyMac. Stop using Internet Explorer, Chrome or Safari, switch to Firefox or Opera. On Mac, add Little Snitch. After that: stay away from porn sites - they are deadly boring anyway. 🙃 3 1

jaapv Posted April 28, 2020 Share #7 Posted April 28, 2020 Advertisement (gone after registration) There isn't, it gets picked up from your computer -if insufficiently secured- by trackers.

I'm pretty careful about such things and have never bothered with social media. How do you think a connection would be made to my LUF ID ? marcg Posted April 29, 2020 Share #14 Posted April 29, 2020 (edited) I run an Invision forum and a few months ago we had exactly the same thing happen. It must have been a Bot because within about 20 minutes, it had registered and then followed thousands of our members – and of course each one received a message that they had a new follower – and the follower's URL went to a porn site. I sent out a message apologising to people and telling them that we had been invaded – but despite that, we had about a dozen people or so – who hadn't been active for some time who suddenly approached me to delete their accounts. There has been no recurrence – but it's very embarrassing and of course it looks very bad as people lose faith in your level of security. However, it's not really a hack in the usual sense of the word. It's really an automatic spamming invasion. We use CleanTalk – which helps us catch a lot of spammers – but I hadn't configured it to catch bots. I've lost one horse but the stable door is now bolted – securely, I hope.
