pgk Posted April 16, 2020 Share #1 Posted April 16, 2020 Advertisement (gone after registration) Ok, so I am still running some M8 batteries from 2007 which have been fine, until now. One appeared to charge up ok yesterday, but after a couple of hours both LEDs on the charger started flashing and the battery felt hot (which suggests to me that its had its day anyway). However, when it had cooled and I put it into the camera, the charge indicator on the camera is showing that it is almost full. I will replace it anyway, but does anyone know whether heating issues within the battery itself are the cause of the chargers indicating a problem? Ray Vonn Posted April 16, 2020 Share #2 Posted April 16, 2020 You could always try changing the SD card. Somehow this fixed the issue when I had it with my M-E. Not more than 45mb/s though which is quite hard to find these days.
jdlaing Posted April 16, 2020 Share #3 Posted April 16, 2020 Yes. Getting hot trips one of the safety features in the batteries and signals the charger. This is one of the features that is not in aftermarket third party batteries.

Paul, the feeling "hot" battery can be normal, to see next time charging with care if it's hot again (or hotter meaning it's time to discard the battery ).
