How fast does the SL2 startup?

I am asking because I typically like to switch off the camera to save battery; but I hate losing shots coz it takes too long to start up.

another thing that bothered me on the original SL was when the first card is full and the camera switches  to the 2nd card- it would always need to give me a warning when I started it up and this would waste another free precious seconds.

Has anyone experienced anything like this in the new SL2?

I run my cards in parallel as a backup so can’t tell you about the warning.  Have never filled them up.

As to startup time, mine is about a second or so with a fast card inserted. Maybe a touch longer. It’s not blazingly fast to turn on, but compared to the nine seconds on my X1DII everything seems quick!

With a one or one and a half second startup I can imagine missing the occasional shot but it would be unusual. That should comfortably cover most situations.

And the wakeup from the power-off timeout is faster than 1 second.  So just set the automatic timeout to 30 seconds, and you will be running at very low power.

I do this.  But, more importantly, I always have a spare battery along, and am considering buying a third.  A small, portable power bank is also not a bad idea. I’d rather concentrate on pics, not worry about being caught with a dead battery.  Relative to the camera, lens and other costs... peanuts.
