What makes you think that there will be an M11 in 2020? Indeed. The more realistic possibility is the rumored M10R, using the sensor architecture shared with the M10M, of course with color array. But with the pandemic, even that now seems a stretch. Jeff

BKimelb1 Posted March 27, 2020 Author Share #22 Posted March 27, 2020 OK, I bought the M10 for 2,600 USD plus my M240. i got an even trade for my extra battery and half case. Just got the camera and am fiddling with the settings. The test shots look great and I am happy. I have a question about the Leica protector half case. It has an extra suede piece for the bottom but the screw will doesn't fit with it in since it makes the camera too high up. I took it out and the case fits fine. Does anyone know why Leica made this piece?

It is only used if you remove the back flap.

Since I do a lot of low light photography, I am very interested in trading up. Because the next generation is expected this Fall, would you wait or buy a used M10 now for the right price? I saw a good one for 5000 USD with extra batteries and am considering it. Thank you for your advice! In the alternative universe of Leica, there are no guarantees - particularly with regard to when the latest, greatest M camera will plop down on dealer's shelves. I would not expect the M1 to arrive this fall. Next fall, perhaps - or even fall of 2022. If you are okay with waiting 2 to 2 1/2 years (or perhaps longer) for the M11, great. On the other hand, you could get the used M10 now and enjoy shooting with it for the next 2+ years while you wait for the M11. When the M11 drops, you could sell or trade in either the M240 or M10 on the M11. Acquiring Leica lenses or cameras is like a game of chess - deliberate well and make your moves with discernment. This game is no place for impulsive or poorly thought out moves.
