peterb Posted March 15, 2020 Share #1 Posted March 15, 2020 Advertisement (gone after registration) Two of the scoopers at Fair Oaks Pharmacy in South Pasadena. A CLASSIC old world pharmacy with a counter and amazing vintage toys like wind-up cars and wooden gliders. These two guys really caught my eye. Hope you like them. Taken with the D-Lux. jankap Posted March 15, 2020 Share #3 Posted March 15, 2020 (edited) Is "pharmacy" a word for a "bar"? I don't see any medicine offered. OK, I would take a genever, when I am ill. No, the last years I take a "Mutters Echte", that means "the real one from mother". The best medicine for the stomach, I know! Nice pictures! Jankap, This really IS a pharmacy/drug store it was the pharmacy part was just off to the side. But for many years drug stores used to have soda fountains where they served sandwiches and specialty drinks like ice cream sodas and other delights. One of the most famous was Jacob's Pharmacy in Atlanta, Georgia where a chemist named Pemberton came up with a drink that became Coca Cola. 3

Timmyjoe Posted August 2, 2020 Share #6 Posted August 2, 2020 It's kind of a Pharmacy/Soda Fountain. I love that place. It's on the original Route 66 and anyone who might be driving the Mother Road from Chicago to LA owes it to themselves to stop and take it in. Best, -Tim
