Greetings,

I have an M10-P that's 3 months old. I've taken only ~3000 photos with it. Recently, the shutter release button became intermittently unresponsive: I would press the button, but not feel a click and the shutter wouldn't open ... it was like the camera was powered off. I thought this was a software, battery, or SD card issue and I've been resetting the camera and trying new cards. Sometimes this would resolve the issue, or so I thought. But now the problem is worse, and I can't get the camera to fire at all by pressing the button.

On a whim, I tried using pin to trigger the shutter like a cable , and it fires every time, with all of my SD cards and batteries.  So it seems the problem is mechanical. The camera really hasn't been exposed to any weather or dirt, but I cleared everything out with a dust gun. Still, same result: pressing with my finger will not trigger the shutter, but using a pin will.

Any advice? (Of course I'd love to avoid losing this camera for a month or two by sending it in for repairs.)

Thanks in advance!

Same issue although The shutter release is not totally disabled on my M10P purchased about a year ago.

Mine doesn’t sound quite as bad, but still failing. I have a lot of photos on it, probably ~50000.

I think I’m going to send mine in to the mother ship for repairs soon.
