Just one thing - for me the removal of Video was a deal-breaker. it was a technological step backwards that made my M system (user since 1976 and I owned every M camera there was except M1 and M5) into my nostalgia system and turned my CL into the true legacy of Barnack's concept. I am honestly surprised you hold that opinion. Thought you would be a more purist towards M's when it comes to only shooting photos. Long time lurker, so hello!
Advertisement Posted March 13, 2020 Posted March 13, 2020 Hi maxfairclough, Take a look here Finally got around to reviewing the M10. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
jaapv Posted March 13, 2020 Share #22 Posted March 13, 2020 I'm not a purist at all. To me the M is a fine camera concept that should be developed to be able to survive in the future, not frozen into an ever-more obsolete object of worship.
mujk Posted March 23, 2020 Share #23 Posted March 23, 2020 For me it doesn't matter very much if my M10 is obsolete or an object of worship. I enjoy using it and think it produces very nice images. I just recently looked at test chart fine detail reproduction for another camera on dpreview and happened to bring up the M10 as well in the comparison tool. Of course test charts don't tell everything, but M10 raw images actually compared quite favourably with both newer and more high res sensors when it came to contrast and noise, at least until iso 6400. So maybe it's not yet that obsolete after all?

Who else makes rangefinder cameras? I love the rangefinder but to me its obsolete in truth.
SocialKonstruct Posted March 25, 2020 Share #25 Posted March 25, 2020 Eh I am thinking that for video work, I would prefer my Panny S1 over any M rangefinder to do the job. I just don't feel right having the rangefinder be anything else except stills... imho.
