johnbuckley Posted February 29, 2020 Share #1 Posted February 29, 2020 Advertisement (gone after registration) I love the new Monochrom. The SL2 is an amazing camera. But last weekend, I spent a couple of days in Miami with the M10 in hand, and it was a reminder just what an amazing street camera it is, and remains. So I wrote this paean to a camera, and a city location, which work together like rice and beans. I hope you like it. michali Posted February 29, 2020 Share #2 Posted February 29, 2020 (edited) Thank you for the link to your blog John, a most enjoyable read with wonderful images. Coincidentally, my wife and I are planning a trip to Cape Town in the next 2 weeks to visit friends. I've been going through the same debate in my head - SL2, CL, M10 or Monochrom? I decided on the M10 for very much the same reasons you did, light, colours and camera size. Best, Mike Edited February 29, 2020 by michali
johnbuckley Posted February 29, 2020 Author Share #3 Posted February 29, 2020 Thank you, Michael. You know, like many, I enjoy playing with new toys. But the old toy - the M10 - is wonderful. And spending a weekend with it made me question GAS, at least when it comes to a better M. This is a camera for the ages. Enjoy your trip to Cape Town!
John Miranda Posted February 29, 2020 Share #4 Posted February 29, 2020 thank you John, I enjoyed your essay! I carry an M10 also which I really like, and for "Monochrome", a film Leica MP with black and white film in it. I was to go to Paris this month, but postponed due to Corona Virus, and instead, plan to hike the grand canyon, and will take both camera bodies below the rim.
CosmoM3 Posted March 6, 2020 Share #5 Posted March 6, 2020 Definitely a fine camera and coincidentally, I took my M10 to Miami as well: https://cosmotographer.com/2019/06/12/a-little-bit-of-sun-miami/
