Schittra Posted February 28, 2020 Share #1 Posted February 28, 2020 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) I am not a big fan of favorite menu and thump wheel though. I know it’s convenient but I still not get used to it. Can you show me your favorite menu and thump wheel to get some ideas please? Hope to learn from friends here. Thank you. KFo Posted February 29, 2020 Share #4 Posted February 29, 2020 I don’t normally. I tend to forget to set the time properly when I’m traveling...having it there reminds me. WiFi is on the info menu so I go there for it.
Graafber Posted March 2, 2020 Share #5 Posted March 2, 2020 I’m not often in the menu. So I put all the items I could go for. Because I only shoot raw, the choice is limited. My thumbwheel is only used for zooming in play mode or with the EVF. Or go through the menu, Welcome, dear visitor! Suggestion - remove everything from the favorites, and add items as you use them, that you think that YOU would like to access more quickly. About the thumbwheel, after feedback here, and trying Manual mode, I set the camera to Auto-ISO, and I manually select shutter and aperture. I'm relearning those settings, so I can just decide if they're reasonable to me. If the image appears too light or dark, the thumb-wheel makes it easy to adjust the exposure. Everything I wanted to do seemed to generate reasons here why it wasn't the best thing to do, but the above seems to be working for me. If you're not used to selecting shutter speeds and aperture settings, it might take you a while to get good at this. Oh, and the Favorites is not locked in place. I thought I had it all set a few times, only to realize I wanted to add something. I always leave a blank line at the bottom, so I can add one more..... and I always then search for what I'm using the least, and delete it. I'm too new here to make suggestions, but you just need to see what you're doing the most often, and make those into favorites to save you time.
