How to upload images: Prepare the image as follows: 1.   The image should be sRGB and 8-bits 2.   Reduce the size to 2480 pixels on the longest side. (smaller sizes can be set, but are not recommended) 3.   Sharpen properly for screen. 4.   Save as JPG to your desktop, reducing JPG quality to produce 1000 kB (2400 kB for sponsoring members). 5.   In Lightroom these parameters should be set in the Export dialog. 6.   In the Forum posting or editing box, click “choose Files” and s

I''ll kick off - Gulu Dancers from the Chewa Tribe in Malawi  It turned out well, but the main reason I like it is because it expresses the way the culture of the people is vibrantly alive; it was taken off the main “street” in a township of Lilongwe.

Nice shot Jaapv, something different and not everyday you would be presented with that to shoot.  It's a hard task to come up with a favourite.   I've had the CL almost since launch and still have around 20,000 images on HD's.  Nearly went with family/emotion, nature/wildlife but in the end chose the very first shot I took on my first visit to Venice, with the 18-56, I had literally just dropped off my case at the hotel and headed out, in true tourist mode, and since it's a destination I could never have enough of, definitely left my heart there, it seems like the right choice for this.  Be so interesting to see what others feel their best shot is so great idea for a thread.

Just picked up my S35 lens but i had only my CL. Was very eager to try it and took upon the opportunity to ‘expose’ it when the family decided to hop over to Brighton beach after a very very late lunch followed by a very supposedly a pick up my lens and go to lovely discussion about all Leica things at my first visit to Leica Chadstone.

The colourful houses of Brighton is infamous but on that day, like any days, place had tourist and locals.  And everyone picked their own home to do their things and oblivious to the ‘outside’ world.

Like life, every home tells it’s own stories.

My fav street photograph!

After a very hot day on the shores of Lake Constance there was a really nice sunset at Montfort Palace, Langenargen, promising cooler temperatures. What you can't see in the picture, are those million midges, enjoying the evening and the tourist's blood.

St John's College May Ball, Cambridge, June 2018. The unprivileged hire punts to watch the fireworks from the river, forming a raft. This shot was taken at the end as the raft breaks up. (I fall into neither category - I just happened to be visiting Trinity College, from where this shot was taken).
I call this 'Storming the Barricades'.

This is a photo of Otis, aged 8, taken last summer. He is a very special boy with a wonderfully gentle and loving nature. 3 years ago he went to visit our neighbour and fell 9 stories from her balcony to the ground floor. It was touch and go for a while but he pulled through though he lost a leg and half his tail. We are thankful that there was no more damage than that. Today he is a happy, healthy cat and to see him run around the garden you would never believe he has only 3 legs. 

To further underline why this is my favourite photo I have posted an iPhone snap of him shortly after the accident just below my 'favourite CL photo'.

I beg forgiveness for 2 photos and one not a CL photo.

Bit of a tough challenge to pick one! But I think this is my favourite CL shot because when I came to review my shots from this day, it gave me great satisfaction that the timing was just right on this one.

Interesting that you don’t recognize the value of your own shot. I can tell you that it’s good, something special and natural about this girl, her age, style, pose etc. along with background composition. I wish it had been mine.
