If you want to see my day 1 shots head here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/148006815@N08/? All were shot with the Summicron 35mm 8 elements, edited to taste (including grain) Welcome, dear visitor! Advertisement Posted February 12, 2020 Posted February 12, 2020 Hi shirubadanieru, Take a look here M10M & Old lens thread. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Keith (M) Posted February 12, 2020 Share #2 Posted February 12, 2020 Why not? Always interesting to see how old lenses perform and even more interesting to see those from the M10M given its 41Mpx sensor. On my first outing last week I took a number of shots with my 1967 35mm Summaron f2.8 (with med yellow filter). A small Flickr album of the results.

My other two lenses (Summicron collapsible & summilux 50mm v1) are being CLAed until May, can’t wait to try them on the M10M. For now I’ll keep sharing some shots with the 8elements. i was wondering if old lenses would look soft in such a high mp sensor but no problems at all; I also have some shots at 1/60 and sharpness was fine! No camera shake or blurry shots Edited February 12, 2020 by shirubadanieru
shirubadanieru Posted February 17, 2020 Author Share #4 Posted February 17, 2020 (edited) Even a 60y old lens looks super sharp on the M10M (shot at f8 with the 35mm 8e) click pic for a higher res version Welcome, dear visitor! shirubadanieru Posted February 19, 2020 Author Share #8 Posted February 19, 2020 I just went out and shot the Summicron 8e wide open with the M10M, You can see the last 5 shots: https://www.flickr.com/photos/148006815@N08/ All shots are shot wide open at f2 with the M10M & 8e 35mm Summicron. This camera makes lenses that are generally soft wide open when shot with other cameras suddenly become extremely sharp to a point it seems they were shot using f4 aperture instead! It’s like I get a brand new lens with this camera. On one side, it’s great because it gives me the same quality wide open as if I were shooting it at F4, on the other side I feel I can’t make it glow as much as I’d like in specific situations. What are your thoughts after looking at these, especially if you’ve used the 8e before and know how it performs at f2 and its signature.

UliWer Posted February 19, 2020 Share #15 Posted February 19, 2020 Thank you for the great examples with (very) old lenses on the M10 Monochrom! They confirm my theory that the camera is their ideal partner.
