chey Posted February 9, 2020 Share #1 Posted February 9, 2020 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have the latest firmware update and have had no issues with the iPhone FOTOS. I decided to try the iPad version. I can get the app to and camera to recognize each other, yet i get a message that there was a failure to establish the connection(the same issue happens with the iPhone version running o my iPad as well). Does anyone have solutions? Suggestions? Thanks
Advertisement Posted February 9, 2020 Posted February 9, 2020 Hi chey, Take a look here Leica FOTOS app for iPad - Won't connect with Q2. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
ontick Posted February 9, 2020 Share #2 Posted February 9, 2020 Leica states that you must re-establish the connection to Fotos app after this firmware update. Try deleting the camera from the app and adding it again.

I just tried it, but still not able to establish a connection. But thanks for the suggestion. It's appreciated.

Well, I was able to resolve the issue. Apparently I can't read instructions. When it couldn't connect, the app suggested restarting bluetooth. I assumed that was with the camera. I went into the iPad settings and turned bluetooth off and then on again. It works now!

chey Posted February 13, 2020 Author Share #8 Posted February 13, 2020 Honestly, I haven't had a chance yet to try it out yet. I'll test it out this weekend.
dannirr Posted March 1, 2020 Share #9 Posted March 1, 2020 I'ver has this same issue with my phone since updating to V2. I've tried everything - it finds the camera, starts wifi, shows wifi is connected in the phone settings - but then says it couldn't establish a connection. Nothing I do makes any difference
TheEyesHaveIt Posted March 10, 2020 Share #10 Posted March 10, 2020 The app is quite poor. I can’t get it to consistently connect in either my iPad or iPhone.
Stephen_C Posted March 10, 2020 Share #11 Posted March 10, 2020 There is now dedicated Leica FOTOS app forum and a little encouraging news recently appeared on it. It. The indications are that the app is under active development so perhaps we should not despair. Stephen
Raoul Bhatt Posted August 12, 2021 Share #12 Posted August 12, 2021 Well, if you have other files / photos on your memory card from another camera, it’ll hang during “connecting”, format the card when it’s in the camera so it’s only Leica Q2 photos. https://instagram.com/raoul
DonovanMediaCenter Posted March 26, 2023 Share #13 Posted March 26, 2023 I have tried the various suggestions to resolve the Q2 being unable to connect to my iPad and iPhone (it previously did). Nothing works to make it connect. Forced to use a card reader.
Liam Leica Posted May 30, 2023 Share #14 Posted May 30, 2023 I have nothing but trouble with the Q2 and the Fotos App for the past year. It just doesn't work.....it will transfer photos to the phone (xiaomi) once in every thirty attempts. As a product it is a disaster. The one question I have is whether a qr code should show up in the process...that seems to be the case in other Leica products. I have done the firmware update...no change...nothing works. Any suggestions?
jaapv Posted May 31, 2023 Share #15 Posted May 31, 2023 Clear the wifilist from your iPad, delete the app completely, download and reinstall the app and connect following the instructions to the letter. The same with your phone.

I am told to take a photo remotely which is sometimes possible but the photo never shows….the app behaves erratically and every now and again I try once more but these days with absolutely no luck…. darkdays Posted June 5, 2023 Share #17 Posted June 5, 2023 (edited) I was able to connect to my Q2 occasionally with an earlier version, but haven't been able to do so successfully for months. Or to be exact, it connects OK sometimes, but even then I can't see the photos on the camera, but I can use it as a remote. Same issue with 4.0. Same happens on two different Android devices. Really disappointed with Leica, as this is my first experience with their cameras. Edited June 5, 2023 by darkdays

didier Posted June 11, 2023 Share #19 Posted June 11, 2023 For my use as an amateur, it works flawlessly on my iPad 12.9’’ Never had any problem connecting to the Q2, and from the app to Lightroom for iOS works without problem either.
