tappan Posted February 3, 2020 Share #1 Posted February 3, 2020 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hello. I used LiveView for a few moments tonight. After, my M10-P was overexposing on A mode. It was giving me a 60 second exposure! After that, it was giving me the associated very LONG "noise reduction. I then went back to LV and the exposure is perfect. I then went back to without live view and the camera on Auto is giving me another 60 second exposure. While this situation is happening, I took it off "A" and started to shoot manual but the camera's exposure meter won't work correctly. It won't give 2 red arrows in viewfinder, just one. tappan Posted February 3, 2020 Author Share #2 Posted February 3, 2020 After one more day with this problem, I have managed to sharpen the problem. Has anybody ever experienced the following? Thanks.... In manual mode, Camera’s left red meter arrow inside eye viewfinder is blinking and pointing right and will not go out of blink. In “A” mode , camera’s eye viewfinder has a steady red dot, a blinking red left arrow pointing right, a blinking 4’ ......when I depress the shutter, it gives me a whopping 240 second exposure. It does work however on LiveView. And Multiple lenses have encountered this issue. 24mm elmarit and a 50 summilux. In manual mode, Thanks, Mark
a.noctilux Posted February 3, 2020 Share #3 Posted February 3, 2020 Had you uncapped the lens ? If yes, the camera is faulty, ask Leica.

Are you actually asking me if the lens cap was on the lens?!
a.noctilux Posted February 3, 2020 Share #5 Posted February 3, 2020 Serious ! Yes, this 240 seconds exposure is the only explanation when cap on, if the camera works like it should. I you had your lens uncapped, the camera is faulty right ?

a.noctilux Posted February 3, 2020 Share #7 Posted February 3, 2020 Advertisement (gone after registration) Maybe the metering cell at the floor looking at the gray curtains of the camera is faulty. When use in manual, the metering system uses the separate cell "at the floor". When in "A" and LV, the metering system uses the sensor as metering cell.
farnz Posted February 4, 2020 Share #8 Posted February 4, 2020 Hi Mark, I haven't experienced this problem. As you doubtless know, in LiveView the camera meters directly off the sensor but in RF mode it measures light reflected off the stripe on the shutter curtains. Since your camera meters correctly in LiveView then it must be something to do with the stripe or the metering cell in the lens throat. Before sending the camera to Leica with the unavoidable wait for its return it might pay to check that the shutter curtains are closing correctly and presenting the stripe and that there's nothing like dust or a paint fragment obscuring the metering cell and preventing it from 'seeing' the stripe. I would also do a Reset to see whether that fixes the problem but I don't remember seeing one of the LED arrows pointing in the wrong direction.
