A full moon so tried some shots last night whilst walking the dog. 13 secs 24-90

I'm surprised at how clean files are at iso 640 and with LENR off. At 60 secs with iso 100 there are a couple of hot pixels in the shadows with significant numbers only appearing after lifting the shadows by 2+ stops. With such a high resolution sensor I doubt if they would be visible even if ignored in large prints.

S1r with 90-280. In this case the high resolution helped me to be able to crop quite a bit.

Every time I use this lens I must say it is amazing. But its not really compact.

Not HDR.  It’s a new feature in LR that was added recently that is called something like Enhance Details.  It happens to do a great job removing moire.  Check Jim Kasson’s web site for tests and examples.

I tried both Enhance Details and the adjustment brush.  Neither made any noticeable improvement to the moiré.

First use at high ISO. S1R with leica 24-90 at 90mm f4 1/30 (with my health, shaky hands, no way I could have done this without IBIS) ISO 6400.

I picked up the Leica SL 24-90 yesterday and am also quite surprised at the bulky size of this lens. I've got big hands so it doesn't really bother me.                                                     The initial results I'm seeing are excellent. I'm still experimenting with the camera and slowly getting my head around the various functions.

Best,

Mike

My SL 35 arrives Tuesday, which is a pleasant surprise.  I placed my order with Adorama long ago, and when the charge hit my Amex card yesterday, I thought at first there had been a mistake, but then I got the shipping notice.  Happy early birthday to me.  :)

I like that Lens. Esp. the close focus distance and that pleasing soft but not too swirly bokeh.
A 24mm with similar characteristic would be fine…

While waiting for the Summicron-SL 35 to arrive on Tuesday, I broke out the Summilux-M 35 for a walk in the woods and a few test shots.  There is some minor vignetting, which is easily corrected, but untouched here.  All in all , the M 35 plays well with the S1R.
