mujk Posted January 30, 2020 Share #7 Posted January 30, 2020 Advertisement (gone after registration) Probably not, but depends on price and high-iso performance.
adan Posted January 30, 2020 Share #8 Posted January 30, 2020 Zero interest in an M10-R - OTOH, if it results in perfectly good vanilla M10s hitting the used markets at discount prices, that'll be nice. 3

I'm hoping current M10-P owners feel the need to trade in
digger1914 Posted January 30, 2020 Share #10 Posted January 30, 2020 No, I'm very happy with my M10-P
happymac Posted January 30, 2020 Share #11 Posted January 30, 2020 No – image files are too large! I don’t expect a significant better image quality in relation to my purpose.
KFo Posted January 30, 2020 Share #12 Posted January 30, 2020 I seriously doubt it. I’m not sure what I’d be looking for that more megapixels would help with.

As asked, my answer is no. 24MP remains ample for my usual photography needs. The M10-P’s quieter shutter would be nice. My 50MP Canon 5Ds R is a niche camera, rarely used. It demands that I use low ISO settings, and, if shooting hand-held, that I use Image-Stabilized lenses, flash, or both. My 46MP Nikon D850 is much better than the 5Ds R in low light, but I seldom feel a need for the megapixels. If I can fill the viewfinder, my 16MP and 20MP Nikons have plenty of resolution. The M10 Monochrom has my attention, but primarily for the low-light/high-ISO capability, rather than the 40MP. I am not yet certain that I will maintain my level of interest. sutlore Posted January 31, 2020 Share #14 Posted January 31, 2020 no sale, I think 24MP is my best sweep spot for photos. Even I have A7R-III in hands, some how I feel 42MP is a little bit difficult to work with as my PC is quite old. I also need to concentrate more than usual to keep my hands steady. FrozenInTime Posted January 31, 2020 Share #15 Posted January 31, 2020 No immediate plans to sell the M10, but to get the M10M, I did sell equipment that had not been used in the last year. I never thought I would part with my M6 and Hasselblad 501c, but they are gone along with a good few m43, M and TL lenses. The M10M was not bought for the extra pixels, but for the unique high ISO noise.
cirke Posted January 31, 2020 Share #16 Posted January 31, 2020 (edited) without a built-in E-viewfinder I'll never buy another M Edited January 31, 2020 by cirke
WvE Posted January 31, 2020 Share #17 Posted January 31, 2020 Don't need 40MP, for me it's over the top, and I only end up paying even more.
Jeffry Abt Posted January 31, 2020 Share #18 Posted January 31, 2020 I’ve decided... The M 10 is virtually perfect. I’m keeping it. Now I may get the SL2 for more megapixels and it’s versatility.

SrMi Posted January 31, 2020 Share #20 Posted January 31, 2020 (edited) I wonder if Leica will discontinue the M10-s (24Mp) once they launch M10R (40Mp). I will likely get M10R, assuming the increased resolution will not be the only change. Edited January 31, 2020 by SrMi
