Walk in the woods (Voigtländer 35mm 1.4)

Unfortunately, the picture has become a bit blurry (apparently shaken). However, I think the light dynamics and the green of the scene is beautiful.

So many beautiful photos.  The M8 may be old, but apparently it works just as well now in 2022 as the day it was released.  The M8 discussion thread seems to be damaged, and needs someone to repair the database.  I guess it's sort of "working" still, but my recent post shows as #1, but should be in the #400 range.

I got out my M8.2 yesterday, and started to charge my four batteries again.  I used to love my M8, but now seem to always gravitate towards my M10.  I think it's time to start using the M8 again - it's the picture that counts, not the megapixels and other technical stuff.

Your recent post shows normally on page 1, i would think, page 400 was in 2007 or something. This pic is from 2011. M8.2 + Elmar-M 50/2.8. Not sure if any other M camera can beat M8 or M8.2 in acutance.

Walking around with my M8.2, looking for interesting scenes to photograph.  These two caught my eye.

I remember I used to wonder how the M8 captured such lovely colors, with hardly any effort or editing.

The only thing I needed to do, was change the EXIF name for the camera to LEICA M10 in order to get PhotoLab 6 to recognize the file.  Otherwise, it just says "unsupported camera" and laughs at me.

Well, I agree, sort of, but the photo you just posted is #2481.  New posts in the M8 forum should go to the bottom of the list, not the top - as in my case, it seems like it is starting all over again.

I agree with what you wrote, but I don't understand why.  The default settings for color on the M8.2 are "prettier" than the default colors on the M10 (but I know I can edit the colors to look however I want them to look).  The M8.2 "just works", no effort required, as shown in your photo.

I bought my M8.2 a week or two before the M9 came out.  The sales people offered to do an upgrade for me, at a cost I could have afforded, but I decided not to.  For my purposes, the M9 would have been a step backward.  I really wanted the ability to shoot infrared, and if someone's sweater looked a bit purpleish, that was a tiny penalty compared to shooting IR with a hand-held camera, no tripod required.

Nice photo, and nice detail!!

Trying my M8.2 with a 135 Tele Elmar

I missed the resolution of my M10.

I always wanted to get a photo of this sailboat with its owner - finally achieved that.

RF accuracy can be critical with tele lenses on M8/M8.2. At f/4, a 135mm lens exceeds the accuracy limits of those bodies. Better shoot at f/5.6 at least or use a magnifier. Here M8.2 + Elmarit 135/2.8 with goggles.
