The last one also in April. Sadly it was cloudy most of the time, so I could not get this deep dark skies as one sees with IR.

All images with the m8, an elmarit 28mm (non-asph), 715nm filter and editing in C1.

From personal taste I prefer to use a 850 nm ("black") IR filter, which provides the stark whites and jet blacks when appropriate/desired.  720 nm is good for 'faux-IR' if that's one's thing though.

I've used the 28/2.8 Elmarit asph v1 for IR and regrettably found that it had a hot spot so it's good to see that the pre-asph appears not to.  Out of curiosity is your Elmarit pre-asph the v1, 2, 3, or 4, Olaf?

Pete.

@farnzPete, you are most probably right regarding the filter, but was already happy I found one. I do need to do some curve adjustments in c1 though.

the elmarit is v4, I bought it last autumn and was doubting between this one or the asph v1. As my 50mm is old as well, I decided that the older option would make a good match 😎

... and although it experienced only little use for some time due to an M10 acquisition in 2019 the M8.2 still works fine in 2022 (total exposures now about 18500): Budapest

Another one with great colors. The elmarit28 was the second lens I bought, in the beginning I had some regrets, but now I really love it. On the m8 though as a 35mm.

Image below taken during a walk some weeks ago. There will be wine 🍷

an ordinary rainbow. except for the fact that the main one ends on my house.

though I needed to get out and get soaked to get this image, I am happy I did as to me it is special.

the m8 did a great job. no editing in this one.

I see that the Zeiss unfortunately has an IR hot-spot, Tom.  Was the lens wide open or stopped down?

Pete.

f5.6 I believe, could also be the 850nm filter, haven't had this on a R72. I tried to correct the vignetting but PS locked up on me, small laptop, maybe 1000 other excuses. I still like the image.

Noob question. I am assuming all the photos posted here are edited in post?? Because I've been having a hard time with the colors SOOC from my M8

Mine (coloured ones) are slightly edited: in c1, select a profile, some dodging and burning and that’s basically it.

It took me a while before I found the right profile though.

b/w is a different story.
