Well photographed.  The pleasure of anonymously watching people is a fiercely strong impulse in the human psyche or at least in mine. Hopper’s paintings are terrific! One can look and look an still be enthralled. I’m sure they are amazing to see in person.

Steve - Thank you.  Considering how Hopper's paintings so often involve feelings of loneliness (even the painting of the couple in a hotel room shows them to be completely in their individual worlds - The last paining posted above) if felt right to show the "lonely" guard along with the masterpiece.

Stefan - Thank you.  Yes, we saw it there years ago.  It took the curator 6 years to assemble the exhibit from private collections and from other museums.  Many of the pieces were new to us.
