How to upload images: Prepare the image as follows: 1.   The image should be sRGB and 8-bits 2.   Reduce the size to 2048 pixels on the longest side. (smaller sizes can be set, but are not recommended) 3.   Sharpen properly for screen. 4.   Save as JPG to your desktop, reducing JPG quality to produce 2000 kB (5000 kB for sponsoring members). 5.   In Lightroom these parameters should be set in the Export dialog. 6.   In the Forum posting or editing box, click “choose Fil

The 1972 Summilux 35mm is a delightful lens, dialing in softness or hardness with a twist of the aperture ring. And beautiful rendering no matter what aperture you use.

This Denny's restaurant is a short block from my home: I've walked past it on many walks and snapped a photo. I did this on two walks in succession last week and was struck by the fact that I'd framed it almost identically with both lenses. Taken in the late afternoon and then in the evening, I thought they would make an interesting diptych...

It snowed at higher elevations in the San Francisco Bay Area yesterday—not an everyday occurrence. Taken from a hill above the Lafayette Reservoir (at the end of a muddy, uphill trail!), this shot shows the snow on Mt. Diablo at right, and the cloudy remnants of the storm, lit by the late afternoon sun. 35mm Summilux, red filter.
