Of course for street, there is no better alternative (just a bit of a biased opinion); M10 Monochrom + 24 Elmar-Asph from the streets of Cluj-Napoca, Romania.

I pulled out my cheap, old, Nikon F mount Sigma 600mm f/8 mirror lens, stuck it on the appropriate set of adapters, and hung the Leica M10 Monochrom off the back with the Visoflex 020 EVF fitted. Put in an Orange filter, set it on the tripod, and did a few test shots … a couple in the near field and a one across the church parking lot and up to the steeple:

A 600mm lens is hardly a walk around shooter (I always use it on a tripod only!), but I can see some uses for it on the M10-M every so often. I'm very glad I have the full filter set for it, it only cost me about $85 or so once upon a time.

35 ‘Lux Pre-ASPH

25mm f/2.8 Biogon, 040 Filter

Today was my first day making photos since my knee surgery and I’m getting to know two new lenses I just acquired. Would appreciate some constructive criticism, which composition do you all prefer?

Horizontal because of less negative space at top of the frame.  And the horizontal has more context.

I'd crop this one to a square (and straighten it just a little bit in the process). I like the foreground details more than in the horizontal. :)

Another fun set from lens testing ... I saw a review on the Lomography "Lomo LC-A Minitar Art Lens 32mm f/2.8" that piqued my curiosity. This is a small, light, inexpensive lens, same or similar, I believe, to what is fitted on the "infamous" Lomo 35mm compact camera, housed in a metal M-mount with rangefinder coupled focusing. It has a (cheap) simple diaphragm mechanism, and a similarly (cheap) click-stopped focusing lever. It makes the M4-2 or M10-M pretty small and light ... not so much so as the MS Optics Aporia 24mm f/2, nor is it up to the same build quality or optical quality, but then it's less than a quarter the price.

Anyway it piqued my curiosity and was cheap enough that I felt I should give it a try. I went out for two walks with it fitted to the M10-M and pulled together a little album of 19 photographs that I found interesting out of what I'd exposed.

One of them that I like a lot:

Saw an interview with Max from Analog Insights and Marc Rebillet where Marc talked about how great and characterful that little lens on the LC-A was. Think Max did a review on it that I haven’t seen yet as well. Your photos with that lens on the M10M look wonderful!

I think I saw Max' review, and that was what piqued my interest.

It's a cool little lens, a little crude in build quality but nothing awful. The rendering qualities obviously have a huge amount of light falloff on the M10-M, and the edges (at least at f/2.8 to f/5.6) get quite soft, but it's a nice distortion and there's lots of contrast on center particularly. The rangefinder is accurate enough, the lever is a bit fiddly, and finding an orange filter for it is probably a bit tough. But for $250 ... lots of fun. :)
