Rainy day in Kyobashi

M10M + 35mm Summicron-M IV (cropped)

Wow incredible dynamic range well composed. Are these Cherry Blossoms? what wonderful definition even against a bright background. The multiple reflections and weather all contribute to the impact of this photo. Thanks, CHIPS

Great capture! It is so calm around the swan complemented by concentric ripples at the edges. Emotionally graceful -- well done. Best, Chips

Yes, the cherry blossoms are starting to do their thang. Early next week should be peak blossom around here. Hope the weather stays dry for them. They are, as you can imagine, stunning.

M10 Mono +50 apo.  First shot and testing highlights (better). It's a pleasure to use compared to the 246. The M10R's buffer is faster though. Anyone else noticed?

I encountered this enormous stack of trashed books on a back street in Tokyo today. Like porn for Monochrom users. Mmmmmm lovely crispy texture.

The M10M + Voigtlander 50mm f1.4 Nokton Classic was up to the job.

This is a demonstration of the legendary Noctilux F1.4 -- The tones are all very similar and yet you have a subtle but distinct separation of the freshly pruned tree from the surrounding grasses, stream and sky. The vignetting is that added or is it characteristic of this particular lens? Thanks, CHIPS

Very striking capture. I assume in B&W the portrait of the Moon was a bit flat and that's why you added the coloration? CHIPS

Hi Chips,

Oh it can, the photo was taken almost into a quite a low sun.  This version shows the ivy covered stone wall which was in deep shadow.  It can been seen on the first image however it gets lost when I post here.  I prefered it dark as 'truth be known' the wall was unintersting, some of the ivy had been pulled off it and it ws

s a bit of a mess.  The second image is a close up of the wall.

Thanks the effect of the shadows focuses on the essential elements. I appreciate your showing the increased exposure inside the shadows but the artistic narrative gets overwhelmed by the distractions of so much going on without your careful edits. Thanks! CHIPS
