Guest Posted August 7, 2007 Share #1 Posted August 7, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have just acquired a secondhand Digilux 1, having sold mine, and missed it. Can anyone tell me a) what was the latest firmware version. how to check on camera c) where to download the last firmware file if needed. Thanks a lot in advance. Advertisement Posted August 7, 2007 Posted August 7, 2007 Hi Guest, Take a look here Digilux 1 Firmware. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
andybarton Posted August 7, 2007 Share #2 Posted August 7, 2007 Welcome to the forum! As far as I know, there were no Firmware updates for the Digilux 1. Andrew Nemeth has a terrific resource on many things Leica, and has some extracts from reviews at the time. But, if you have had one before, you'll know all about it! http://nemeng.com/leica/001f.shtml
Guest Posted August 7, 2007 Share #3 Posted August 7, 2007 Thanks Andy. Just checking, thanks for the info. Yes I love this camera, if you look on my website at the Classic Car galleries for Morges 2005, all the photos for that year were with the Digilux 1. earleygallery Posted August 10, 2007 Share #4 Posted August 10, 2007 Interesting that you missed the camera and bought another - whist it is only 4MP it does produce some very nice results, within its limitations. It has some very good features too such as the hotshoe, optical finder and LCD hood. I used mine at a friends wedding reception a while back, with an additional flash and it gave excellent results which the couple were very pleased with - and I have to say (not being biased) they looked more natural than photos other guests took with various other digital cameras including some DSLR's. Might have been more to do with post processing/printing I guess. I tend to shoot jpegs but TIFF files are noticeably better. To answer your question however, I'm not aware of any firmware upgrades either. I recall reading that the firmware was updated during the production run but not upgradeable on existing cameras. Guest Posted August 10, 2007 Share #5 Posted August 10, 2007 Thanks James. When I bought the Pentax K10d, I sold the Digilux. There is one situation that I need to cover, taking pictures at the Swiss British Classic Car meeting in Morges, Switzerland - whether it is bright sunny or hissing down. With an umbrella and a Digilux this is no problem, I did it in attrocious weather in 2005. I just cannot imagine doing it with an DSLR, so I found another Digilux 1. Yes I like the feature set of the Digilux 1.
earleygallery Posted August 10, 2007 Share #6 Posted August 10, 2007 Just looked at the website, some lovely cars there! I have a P6 Rover in my garage, which I haven't used for a few years now. I plan to get it out and service it in a couple of weeks time, and seeing these cars has spurred me on!

lct Posted February 7, 2015 Share #8 Posted February 7, 2015 Welcome to the forum . There have never been firmware updates for the Digilux 1 as far as i recall. You may wish to remove the battery for three or four days and try again.
