thank you frame-it and Evikne, I look forward to this new camera for sure (sold my 246 in anticipation a long time ago)

given that I use M especially for B&W, for my use this could be the ultimate digital M. I am confident it will be a low-light monster

I mean, I think the picture is just a speculation of how the new monochrome would look.

Not all of us are using f0.9 lenses wide open.  And not all of us are using 1/4 shutter speed all the time.

Cameras like Monochrom are known to be in use for street photography.  Where f8 and 1/1000 is common with 28mm lens. Just as it was in film M only time.

It means all is in focus and no tripod needed. Pixels count is irrelevant for it.

Which site... Leica Rumors or the Japanese source?  Leica Rumors is trying hard to reverse recent missteps, especially the Leica C-M debacle where they lit up the forum in anticipation, then doubled down on the prediction, before being embarrassed.  Then they missed the SL2 timing 3 times, first stating with confidence that it was coming in late 2018 before the Panasonic S camera(s). Their rate of success from the M9 forward was good until these bad misses.

Which would be vast overkill. On a monochrome sensor that would be the equivalent of a 65 MP+ Bayer sensor.
