Vidom flat nose with secondary index

Recently I received a VIDOM with a flat nose. There are two peculiar things to it: First there is a secondary index (see picture) with a visible '2' and '3' and three index lines of different height. Secondly the accessory clip has 'Germany' engraved in the width instead of in the length of the clip which is normal. (see picture) Also there are two holes in the clip I look carefully I can see two small screws under these holes. Normally there is one small hole in the clip.

Has anyone an idea if this is a special version?

Thanks Luigi,

The index for the normal focus distances is normal (3,5, 5, 7,3, 9, 10,5and 13,5).

The secondary index also ha a specific index line on the ring controlling the frame dimensions (see picture left side). If the secondary index is on 3 then the normal index is on 13,5. I can see vaguely a 7, 5, 3 and 2 on the secondary index. As the figures are very vague and not in known Leitz fonts, I wonder if they are done by Leitz.

Another thing is the accessory clip. It is different from what I have seen before. There are two (larger) holes instead of the normal one smaller hole. Under these two holes I can see clearly an number of small screws (2 or 3 for each hole). Could they have been used for horizontal adjustment in the same manner as the KINHA for the KINSU is used?

The clip is clearly made bij Leitz with Germany engraved in typical Leitz font.

I have 15 of the flat nose viewfinders, and the majority have the same base as yours, with the holes, screws and Germany engraved the same.  So, I dont think yours has a factory cine KINSU connection. The added engraved settings do not look like leitz work.

I think the earliest just had black paint on the bottom between the rails, and both rails slotted and brass.  Photo on the left. Many nickle ones do not have Germany engraved as they were not intended for export.

Hum… 3cm on 16mm film is not equivalent to 13,5cm on 24x36... and the "2" ought to correspond to normal index on 9, by logic… but 5 and 7 do not fit into this schema…
