rim_light Posted December 13, 2019 Share #21  Posted December 13, 2019 Advertisement (gone after registration) As I didn't get the cable connection between SL2 and iPhone11pro working, I tried it with different cables in the Apple Store. Thanks for the patient help in a crowded store... Nothing worked. So I get a lightning to sd card reader and the card is instantly recognized. Importing in Lightroom directly works like a charm. This way it is far more quicker. Before FOTOS make a connection to the SL2 I'm already working on the file... And it's just 35 once than 55 annually.

snooper Posted December 13, 2019 Share #22  Posted December 13, 2019 We might have to wait for the iPhone 12 (USB-C apparently) to have a working cable link SL2 - iPhone. Which seems a bit strange as the same cable (US-C to lightning) on a MacBook Pro allows imports from the iPhone into LR. So does it to the iPad Pro... So data link is there but not apparently not on the proper protocol. Meanwhile, the Lightning SD card reader does the trick in no time...

An original Apple USB-C > C cable (maybe not meant for data??) was slower than a Philips USB-C>C cable   I think you may need the 'camera connector kit' from apple to make it work with the phone (it does work with that) Welcome, dear visitor! budjames Posted December 15, 2019 Share #25  Posted December 15, 2019 (edited) Here is my inexpensive solution to ingest into my 2019 iPad Pro 12.9". The Lexar SD reader also allows me to read micro SD cards from my DJI Drone with a SanDisk SD/Micro SD adapter card. I have no plans to pay a subscription fee to Leica for a substandard workflow. But the convenience makes it worthwhile Did you manage to connect your Leica SL2 to iPhone using an Apple USBC to lightning cable? I am trying this but can't get the camera to appear in the Files app. I have my SL2S in Mass Storage Mode, I have enabled USB connections on my iPhone but still no luck. Do I need to buy a separate (non-Apple)Â USBC to lightning cable? Appreciate any advice! Thanks.
beewee Posted January 19, 2022 Share #27  Posted January 19, 2022 Advertisement (gone after registration) Many USB-C cables, especially those longer than 1m, are rated only for USB 2.0 transfer speeds. You’ll want something that is rated for USB 3.1 or higher to maximize your download speed.

Does that mean that the Apple USB-C to lightning cable (the one that came with my iPhone 11 Pro) won't work? It isn't currently so I am assuming so. Are there any  USB-C (USB 3.1) to lightning cable that you recommend/know will work? Thanks
