I still use PS Elements 11 and have been satisfied with excellent JPEG images from my Leica C (Type 112) because they need so little adjustment.

I want to change tactics and transfer my shooting to RAW but my first experiment has failed because the system tells me "...camera model is not supported by the installed version of Camera RAW..."  I run on iMAC version 10.14 and as far as I can see the version of Camera RAW installed is 7.4.0.137 but I understand they are now up to at least version 9.

I have tried finding/installing updates but failed so wonder whether the limiting factor is the  old version 11 of PS Elements with some sort of restriction..

Is there another technique I need to get an acceptable version of Camera RAW?

If it helps.... PSE11 was purchased June 2013 and the Leica C not until February 2015 but surely there must be a method of updating Camera RAW.

you did not mention whether your iMac is able to update beyond 10.14....

that would be my 1st step in troubleshooting...

i am able to edit the rwl files of my Leica C (Typ 112) on my aging and "obsolete' mac mini running high sierra as well as my mbp running mojave (i havent jumped to catalina yet)- i use RawPower

according to adobe:  the minimum  needed is  as below:

Camera

Raw image filename extension

Minimum Camera Raw plug-in version required

Minimum Lightroom version required Minimum Lightroom Classic version required Minimum Lightroom Perpetual version required

C (Typ 112)

RWL 8.2

1.0

5.2

5.2

The MAC version is 10.14.6 Mojave.  PSE is one of the applications which will not run on 10.15 Catalina.

My guess from my earlier post is that PSE 11 being purchased a couple of years prior to my C-Lux means it was released even before that, so the then newer camera C-Lux was just not listed in Camera Raw at that time so when I bought mine in 2015 Camera Raw 11 would never recognise that camera. I have experimented running the same on my older Macbook Pro which is on an earlier MAC OS with the same results.

I'll just stick with JPEG as they have served me well.

Adobe Camera Raw is now on version 12.  Updating ACR not only brings in profiles for new camera raw files, but it also brings in the new features of ACR which are significant including tools like Dehaze.  PSE has been updated at least five times past version 11.  It may be time to "change the oil in your engine".

I just have installed the new and actuall version 2020 of Elements on my new Surface go LTE (with narrow processor) because CC 2020 seems not to function correctly. As I only produce dng-data everything is running well. So I propose to update your old versions.
