carstenw Posted August 11, 2007 Share #161 Posted August 11, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) The blue dot has been hypothesised as being a tiny light meter which tries to guess the aperture by comparing the amount of light coming through the lens to the ambient light. It may also regulate the brightness of the display, but that cannot be the reason that Leica added it; it is not useful enough in that function alone.
